I’m 19 and suffer from Chronic Migraines and some pretty bad neck and upper back pains. Marijuana helps sooth me and relieve the tension in my neck and shoulders along with easing the pain of my Headaches. Do you think that this would be enough for a recommendation from a doctor? Just wondering because I do live in Calif.

Best answer:

Answer by 0.0
haha If you go to Venice Beach you’ll see a bunch of booths of people that are licensed to give a medical card its expensive but almost 90% of the time they’ll find something that is wrong with you that they’ll give you a card. Genius!

These include pain medications, chiropractic care, injections, physical therapy, acupuncture and traction. Often, these chronic back pain treatments only cover up the symptoms and don’t correct the underlying pathology. In these cases, the patient may want to consider laser spine surgery as their next step.

www.resolveyourpain.com Cure cervical disc disease. Solve neck & shoulder pain with Active Isolated Stretching (AIS). An alternative to chiropractic, physical therapy, and surgery. AIS is an effective solution to chronic neck, shoulder, head, and jaw pain. Upper body demonstration. AIS therapy views tightness in muscles as being the cause to physical pain. Please visit www.resolveyourpain.com Active Isolated Stretching approaches neck and shoulder pain by lengthening all the muscles that affect the problem area. Demonstrations in this video are also beneficial for Parkinson’s disease and complications from stroke. Headache sufferers will benefit from this treatment because muscular tension in the neck, upper back, chest, and arms creates tension in the head. Lengthening muscles is the aim of yoga, pnf stretching, massage, thai massage, static stretching, rolfing, and myofascial release. But Active Isolated Stretching is the most effective system of lengthening muscles. Cervical pain can be caused by different reasons. Sometimes it is not the neck muscles that are tight, but the shoulders that need to be lengthened. Golfers will gain greater rotation in the shoulders – which is important for proper set up and follow through on the swing. Upper body work will help golfers keep their head still while the arms are winding up for the swing. Tricep and deltoid lengthening will allow golfers greater range of motion in the swing, which will lead to more power.
I suffer from daily neck and shoulder pain and almost constant headaches. I’ve heard some people swear by wearing hematite beaded jewelry which I think has magnetic properties or something that is supposed to help with preventing or treating the pain. Just wondered if it really worked?

Answer by WickeTD
I don’t see any reason to believe that, but it may be pretty serious what you’re having, how long are you having this?
You should really see a doctor as soon as possible.

Question by : How do I fix my chronic severe neck pain?
I have had moderate to severe neck pain every morning when I wake up for about 13 months now. It gets so bad sometimes that my vision gets fuzzy and I can’t move my head in any direction. I have gone to a chiropractor, but the pain remained even after a month of treatment. I have tried getting special neck support pillows and using neck heating pads, but they only temporarily work and the pain always comes back. Any ideas? Is this a long term chiropractic treatment or something else?

Best answer:

Answer by Tellin’ U Da Truth!
Forget the chiropractor!!!! See a neurologist. There could be a pinched nerve which can lead to loss of mobility. See a specialist. The chiropractor should have recommended that you see a specialist. You should have a hospital near you with a pain management center. You need to have some sort of scan to determine if there is any damage.

Question by Jamal: Does anyone know of a way to cure chronic headaches and neck pain?
About five years ago, I developed severe neck pain and headaches that has been with me 24/7 since that time. This occurred around the same time my anxiety disorder and depression worsened. What originally began as severe neck pain spread all across my head. For awhile, it was extremely painful to make any kind of facial expression, but wearing a dental mouthguard while asleep in addition to some types of physical therapy helped. However, my neck pain and headaches are still there. No type of medication I’ve tried from stuff specifically meant for headaches to muscle relaxers and anti-anxiety medications have helped. I’ve also tried massage therapy, chiropractors, naturopaths, acupuncture, rolfing, psychotherapy, and hypnosis, but none of those helped.

I no I probably can’t get rid of my depression, anxiety disorder, insomnia, and neck pain/headaches all at once, but I’d at least like to tackle one of them. My neck pain and headache makes it very difficult to think, do any type of physical activity, and causes extreme discomfort when sitting or standing. It’s also affected my memory and ability to learn. I used to have a great memory, which was very important since I previously did a lot of reading, but now I forget what I read almost immediately. Not only that, but my brain can’t seem to grasp metaphors, analogies, and definitions very well. Whenever I try learning new vocabulary, it never sticks. It’s infuriating, because now my mind is so muddled and I’m worried that it’ll keep me from eventually going to grad school and pursuing the type of career I want.

I’m not sure what to do, so I’d greatly appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Kathy Miller
You can get the CD’s of the book A New Earth, by Edkhart Tolle, what he says to do has helped me get rid of pain in an instant. Also, Jonathan Parker has excellent meditation tapes at Quantum Quests for all kinds of problems, they are not cheap, but are well worth every penny you pay for them. Eat good healthy foods and get yourself a juicer, and juice carrot, with some celery and a beet, and drink it often, you can put apples with it also. Cut out all junk food, eat only natural healthy food, and eat a high protein breakfast. Unity church has a prayer line, you can call and ask them to pray for you, they are great, and many will pray for your healing.

Neck muscles becomes tired and stressed from long hours of holding the same position. It happens only when you sit for hours and hours in front of a computer. It’s no surprise that one of the most common health conditions of our time is neck pain.

Neck pain and sore neck are usual complaints associated with simple everyday activities like reading for hours in the same position, holding the arms still like carrying your babies when she or he is asleep. If your posture is bad, you don’t realize all these can place strain and stress on the muscles, tissues, tendons, and ligaments of the neck. These cause the tendons to shorten, ligaments to lose tensile strength, and neck muscles to undergo spasm.

Pilates pain relief exercise methods can help relieve you of all these aches and pains caused by your daily activities, be it at home or at work.

Causes and Symptoms of Neck Pain

The neck spine, which we called “Cervical Spine” is a segment of 7 vertebrae – C1 to C7. It is basically made up of bones, joints, and discs held together by muscles, tendons and ligaments. The cervical spine is slightly curved as it comes down from the back of the skull and it is very easy to strain it if not careful. The musculature holding this section is sensitive and tires quickly because it has to support the cervical spine. So if any of these facets get injured, it is likely that you will suffer pain in the neck that may gradually increase over the following days or weeks, which could eventually lead to chronic neck pain.

It is also due to bad posture that contributes to most neck pain, such as sleeping incorrectly, on your stomach or sleeping with no neck support. Most people also get stiff neck by unintentionally sleeping on the wrong pillow or on their arms.

Many people find it hard to sit up with the proper posture for many hours. The hunched forward position for long periods of time means the spine is not properly supported. In fact, it is not in its desired position. Since the same routine happens every single day at work, it will eventually become a vicious cycle that will cause the neck muscles to become tense and sore.

Tips for Using Pilates for Neck Pain Relief

1.Good FormThe objective of pilates neck pain exercises is to release tension and stress and in time to teach yourself how to do it. If you are in some sort of pain, keep the movements soft and gentle. It is also crucial to be always mindful of your own form and posture.

To get an idea of the principle of good form, start by trying to maintain a long neck and a lifted chest that is open, soft and relaxed. To that, add space between the shoulder blades as well as the feeling that your arms are long and they hang lightly from the ends of your shoulders.

2.Train with ProfessionalsTrain with an experienced pilates instructor who has worked with students with the same health history. They are more likely to be able to give specific exercises routines to help you achieve better results in a shorter time. It’s important to inform your pilates instructor about your neck condition so that the right approach can be initiated.

3.Start with Private One on One SessionYour best bet will be to start with private one-on-one sessions as it will cater to your needs better. Group sessions, though small may not help you to achieve your goals. You will have a lot to learn. The results depend on your understanding on how to build a strong sense of awareness. Everyone has a specific mix of reasons for neck and shoulder tension. Therefore, you will need your instructor’s undivided attention in order to learn this.

Pilates exercises for Neck Pain

Pilates focuses on alignment of the spine, engagement of the core muscles and good breathing mechanics, using stretching and strength building methods. The following gentle exercises can relieve the pain caused by tense, knotted neck muscles and at the same time improve posture.

1.Shoulder liftsSit on a chair with your back straight as in the tip 1 above. Relax your arms, neck and shoulders. Inhale while lifting the shoulders up, all the way to your ears. Exhale as you let your shoulders drop away from the neck. Repeat the movements five times while maintaining long extended neck alignment.

2.Neck TurnsRest your hands on the thighs and hold your neck in neutral position, looking straight ahead. Check that your jaw is straight and parallel to the floor. To start, inhale and exhale gently turn the head to the right side. Inhale again in this position while the neck is being stretched, and then exhale as the head rotates back to the center. Do the same movement this time rotating to the other side. Repeat this drill four more times while maintaining a long neck.

This patient having had 5 car accidents from 1997-2000 in USA with repeated whiplash injuries to her neck, complained of chronic neck pain since around 2003, which complicated by, and propagated to TM Joint disorder, facial asymmetry, subluxed joints between the skull bones; more and more frequent wry neck, and persistent head and neck deviated to right side due to tight right neck muscles; more and more frequent and prolonged cervicogenic headache, labeled “tension-headache” or “atypical migraine”; more and more frequent and severe shoulder tightness, impingement and hand numbness; more and more tight mid back to the lower back muscles and development of pseudo-sciatica. She had been seeing all kinds of therapists, from family doctors, orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, to bone setters, herbalist, acupuncturists and doctor of naturopath for the past 7 years; seeking all sorts of conventional or traditional western and Chinese therapies. On the most severe days, when her neck was so deviated she could not stand straight and looked at people with a horizontal gaze. On those days, she needs to see acupuncturist for temporary relieve 3-4 times every week for 3 years! She spent all her money and leisure time for the treatment . She was suggested to have open surgery by orthopedic surgeons to release the tight muscles and trying to do the spine fusion to treat the deviated neck, but she was so scared to heard about the poor prognosis and frequent chronic neck pain after the …
