Question by JPM: Is Acupuncture effective for relieving headaches, back and neck pain?
Over the years I have seen my a doctor, chiropractor and a massage therapist regarding my headaches and back and neck pain. I have had some success with all of them but still not enough to be satisfied. I am now looking at acupuncture and am curious if it would yield positive results.

Answer by Curious George Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can often be effective in treating chronic pain conditions and headaches. Further, idiopathic pain often responds to acupuncture better than conventional treatments.
If the back and neck pain are a result of structural deformations, such as a herniated disc, acupuncture will not make the pain go away for good. It would however help in long term management of the pain.
Acupuncture is a therapy process, and you must be ready to commit to a course of treatments over a period of time. Once will usually garner only very minor and very temporary changes in your condition.
I personally recommend 4 to 6 treatments in the beginning to establish how your body and condition will respond to treatment. If you have no results, or minimal results after 4 to 6 treatments you may want to explore other health-care treatments.

Question by Nicole C: I am 22 weeks pregnant with severe neck pain?
Last Saturday night I slept very uncomfortably trying to get all my pillows just right. Ever since then I have had incredible neck pain. It hurts everytime I move my neck around. It is even worse at night while I try and sleep my neck stiffens up and when I go to turn my neck kills and it makes me want to cry. I am not sure if this is pregnancy related or if I just have torn a ligament in my neck and need to wait it out. Anyone have this problem?
Best answer:
Answer by Kitty i only have normal neck pain here and there that goes away usually after i change positions, so i do not think this is pregnancy related. you may want to call your doctor and see if there is a medicine you can take, if tylenol isn’t helping, if nothing else he may have another solution for your neck pain other than medicine.

Question by Josh L: severe neck pain pinched nerve doctor and treatment?
Hi,
For the past few weeks, I’ve had severe neck pain. My neck cracks in both directions when I wakeup from sleeping, but during the day, it is almost impossible to crack it. I keep trying to twist and turn and crack my neck every minute, feeling constant discomfort, stiff neck, and cramps, but I am unable to do so, often only sometimes hearing a slight crackling noise.
I can’t look straight for more than a few minutes and keep my neck in one spot. It’s constantly cramping and very uncomfortable, always turning in every direction to try and relieve the pain and stiffness. I tried a chiropractor, but he said that I would need 8 or so treatments to feel relief (with a high insurance deductible each time), and I cannot take the risk at the price nor afford it. He did say it was pinched nerves in the neck and upper back, and a lot of tension and stiffness.
Muscle cream doesn’t work, and neither does a neck massager or heating pad or taking several advils. What kind of doctor can I see to finally solve this constant pain and discomfort and to stop having to make faces and try every wasy possible to crack my neck in public. Would a orthopedis or neurologist work. Is there any type of injection or muscle reliever prescription medicine that could work, and would this permanently and not temporarily solve this pain and problem.
Thank you so much.

Question by Incredible: I’ve had a headache, neck ache, shoulder ache & backache + chest pain & fever for the past 3 days, HELP PLEASE?
I’m 18 and my neck, shoulder & back have been hurting for the past 3 days. My chest has been hurting for 2 days. I’ve taken medicine(aleve, ibuprofen, tylenol) with no relief. I’ve tried the BC power along with equate headache relief and that didn’t help either. I can’t take Excedrin because it makes me sick. I’m lost as to a cause for this because I haven’t hurt myself in anyway at all. My temp has been 101-101.7F since my chest started hurting.
Is there anything you can suggest? Please?

Answer by airaani Sounds like you might have the flu…it can cause headaches, fever and muscle aches. If your fever doesn’t go down, call a doctor and they can confirm that it isn’t something more serious.
